Gravity Project Honey Series Round 2, Rogate 5th April 2015. Back to a classic! Race number two for 2015 is at one of everyone's favourite winter riding spots and there's no possible way it can be muddier than Hollycombe.

 

The Venue

No introduction needed! Known by everyone who rides in the south and if somehow its passed you by check the infamous Rogate Downhill here: Rogate Downhill. It's open all year and is a great place to get your riding skills dialled in.

Standard Rogeate raceday practice applies so NO PARKING ALONG THE ROAD at the bottom and side of the site. The parking will be at the top of the site in the seed plantation, access is via the forestry gate at the very top of the hill. See the  map in the location section below.

 

 

The Course

The course is will be similar to last years starting out on the GP line up top, cutting across the hill and ending on Double D, top time are likely to be under 1 minute.

Rider Info

This is a push up event with no up lift service, the main push for the race will be the one a that runs up the clearing side of the hill so as not to cross the track. The venue has parking for 100+ cars, on site catering and toilets will be available on Sunday . As always the fireroad that crosses the the track halfway down is a public bridleway that we have no permission to obstruct. The crossing point will be marshalled but please be considerate to the bridleway users and be especially aware of any horses that might get spooked. Full face helmets only.

 

 Saturday 4th April

There is no formal practice on Saturday but the hill will be open as normal for riding until 16:00. At which time the whole hill will be closed to riders and we will be on course taping the track and setting up for racing. If you are riding on Saturday please co-operate with us and the Rogate committee to ensue this can be done safely.

09.00 - 11.30 Course open for practice. 
12:15 - Race run 1
14:00 - Race run 2 (approx)
All runs will be in plate order.

Bowtell's will be on site all day for your all you hunger and thirst needs, as well as Crank Cycles to keep your steed running sweet. Big Mac will also be on site over the weekend taking plenty of action shots. Hand your number board back at the end of the race for a raffle and the chance to win a photo from Big Mac Photography.

 

Location

You probably all know it by now but, for those that don't or have never raced at Rogate before please study the map below. Specifically no vehicles associated with the event are to be parked on or alongside the the public highway, the Forestry Commission and West Sussex Constabulary are likely to doing a drive by on Sunday and they make the rules not us...

Directions:

The easiest access is via the B2070 which runs just south of the A3 between Petersfield and Liphook.

From Petersfield: After approximately 3 miles the road heads uphill and you will enter the village Hill Brow. At the cross roads turn right just before the Jolly Drover pub signposted for Rogate 2 miles. Follow the road straight  to the top of the hill for approximately half a mile and the entrance to the car park will be on your left.

From Liphook: After approximately 4 miles the road heads uphill and you will enter the village Hill Brow, it will then gradually head back downhill. At the cross roads turn left just after the petrol station and the Jolly Farmer pub signposted for Rogate. Follow the road straight  to the top of the hill for approximately half a mile and the entrance to the car park will be on your left.
