Gravity Project Honey Series Round 1, Hollycombe 1st March 2015. The first of this years races and we're straight off to the 'new' home of the Gravity Project.

The Venue

The track itself lies within private woodland that is not open to the public outside of organised practice and race days. The landowner also regularly uses it as a venue for shooting so, please don't be the person that gets shot trying to squeeze in that sneaky bit of extra practice.

Possibly more important than the track is the car parking and the access on land that belongs to the charity Hollycombe Steam Collection. Without the use of their land, access rights and cooperation we simply can't run an event at this venue. There's lots of machinery and equipment around the site so please don't touch any of it, they are currently closed for the winter and it is likely that volunteers will be working around site as well. At present their toilets and cafe are also off limits to riders and spectators associated with GP event.

If steam powered stuff is your thing then check out their website here:   http://www.hollycombe.co.uk/ .

Abuse, damage, littering and riding outside of organised events could seriously impact the possibility of using the venue again. Thanks you for your cooperation with this.

The Course

The course is about as far from round 5 last year as you can get in terms of terrain, no rocks! We're talking steep loamy woodland with a mix of tight and open sections. No doubt there'll be the odd root or two making a break for it come race runs on Sunday too.

Helmet cam video below is from last week, so expect a few changes once fully taped.

Rider Sign-UP & Info

This is a push up event with no up lift service. The venue has parking for 100+ cars, on site catering on Sunday and toilets. Please respect the land, the land owners wishes and keep the countryside tidy.

Interesting one to find this so, read carefully and check the map below. Only try and enter via the official Hollycombe Steam Collection entrance (Zoom in to see red arrow on map).

From A3:
Follow the brown tourist signs. Turn off at Liphook. Turn left by the Royal Anchor (Liphook Square), then left again by Lloyds Bank and right at the next mini-roundabout. Look for Sainsburys (on the left). Turn right at both of the next two roundabouts (follow the small brown road signs). Go over the railway bridge and continue along th enarrow, wooded road (Midhurst Road), past Highfield Lane (on your left). Turn left opposite the gate houses, and follow the road through the industrial estate, continuing as far as you can go.

From Haselmere & The East:
Leave Haslemere on the B2131 to Liphook. Where the main road turns sharp right, go straight on up Highfield Lane. At the end of Highfield Lane, turn left onto Midhurst Road and follow the instructions as above.
